I will eat your face

Devon Koren is an aspiring Appalachian writer currently residing in Knoxville, Tennessee. She lives in a tiny house with her beautiful autistic daughter Aisling, her wonderful geeky fiancé Thomas, and their more-than-slighly-eccentric cat Pantoufle. They spend their days in pursuit of domestic tranquility -- cleaning house, learning to cook, and engaging in interesting and repetitive conversations about video game characters, black holes, and rattlesnakes.

Devon has spent most of her life under the influence of a makeshift gypsy demeanor and almost a decade as a small-time Internet celebrity. In 2006, Devon graduated with her Master of Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Tennessee, which she rarely uses in the daily administrative tasks at her corporate workplace. While she isn't entirely sure, she believes she would like more than anything to be Neil Gaiman when she grows up -- to write beautiful stories, to stay in her pajamas all day, and to keep bees.

After several years of depression, denial, and heartbreak, Devon is currently embarking on a journey of self-discovery, psychological exploration, and intense healing. She's discovering the beauty in honesty, understanding, patience, and self-love. Because of this, her LiveJournal and Twitter accounts are locked down to Friends Only. Please respect her boundaries and privacy as she travels this path.

In October of 2009, Devon embarked on her first gig as a freelance writer, maintaining a blog about parenting and autism for Advance. You can find this blog here: From Inside the Puzzle: Raising a Child with Autism.

Devon enjoys sunrises, sunsets, naps, pillows, fireflies, combat boots, striped toe-socks, Irish beer, blackberry wine, corn-on-the-cob, and Doctor Who. If you wish to contact her about these or any other subjects, please write devonkoren at gmail dot com.
